Madeline Piujuq Ivalu and Marie-Hélène Cousineau are the 2014 recipients of the BIRKS DIAMOND TRIBUTE TO THE YEAR’S WOMEN IN FILM, in partnership with TELEFILM CANADA. The award will be bestowed during the Toronto International Film Festival.

CONGRATULATIONS! The Orphan and the Polar Bear has won Best Animation at the First Peoples’ Festival, in Montreal! The Amautalik was also honoured as finalist for the award. Both films were directed by Neil Christopher and produced by Neil Christopher and Louise Flaherty of Taqqut Productions, an Inuit owned production company based in Iqaluit.


Congratulations Kajutaijuq The Spirit That Comes, official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival and will premiere at Tiff September 8th and 9th!!

Shooting of the movie IQALUIT by Benoit Pilon in Summer 2015. Benoit Pilon was the director of the award winning The Necessities of Life (2008) starring Natar Ungalaaq. Natar will also play a lead role in IQALUIT.
